Where the traditional art and fashion meet the contemporary lifestyle
Have Japanese kimonos ever piqued your interest, and made you wonder what it is like to take them out of a museum and apply them to our everyday living?
Kimonos are a living historical Japanese cultural attire which are still worn in Japan for various occasions. Since the economic prosperity in the 18th and 19th century, kimonos have become the symbol of affluence and luxury as well as an outlet of artistic expressions for fashionistas (and sometimes even political).
While the kimono production soared in the 1970s and 1980s (the Economic Bubble period), the lifestyle started to shift in Japan which put less priority on the mindfulness aspect of wearing kimonos.
Why not take advantage of the abundance of these traditional and artistic garments and apply them in our world, bringing fashion, appreciation and serenity together?
